The
event is still on "RAIN OR SHINE"
and I have the following names of people who said they would be interested. If
it is raining then we should meet inside the main entrance to the ship. There is
enough room for us in this entrance way while were waiting for everyone to show
up. If it's sunny or dry, then we'll meet in the main lot, (look for my
Red/Black NSX) and we'll go in from there.
NSX8k@earthling.net (1 or ?) I need a name with this email address please.

Total count so far is around 18 give or take a few with 16 confirmations. That
should fit us in the group status and save us $2 per person. Please RSVP if you
haven't already. Kids under 18 cost only $5 each or $4 in a group. We will meet
at the ship in Alameda at 10:15 for our 10:30 am. tour start time. Please be
there no later than 10:15. We have to pay as a single party so bring enough
"CASH" to cover the fee.
That would be $12 per person in case we don't get all 15 to show. Also bring
some cash to help offset food cost for Keith at his house. Keith Jarret has
offered us the use of his house in Lafayette for food and refreshments
afterwards. More to follow on directions to his home. There will be a slight
charge to cover the food cost for this. So for now I need a formal RSVP so Keith
and I can get a head count as who will finally be there. Below is some more
detailed information:
Cost: $10 per person with a group
of 15 or more. $12 otherwise. Kids $5, $4 in a group.
Length: The tour usually lasts
between 2 1/2 to 3 hours. It covers the whole ship.
Time: The ship is open to the
public at 10:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m.. We should be arriving around 10:15 a.m.
give or take a few minutes depending on the traffic. Our tour is set for 10:30
am.
Date: November 17th which is a
Saturday, RAIN or SHINE!
Parking: There is plenty located next to the main pier. We might be
able to park our cars inside the pier gate, but since Sept. 11th., security may
not allow this. However it would make a good photo opp. if we could do that and
they will try to help us in that area.
Location: The decommissioned
Alameda Naval Air Station in Alameda. The main gate is located on Atlantic
street which you can reach from the Oakland/Alameda Webster Street tube/Posey
tunnel. When you get into Alameda from the tunnel, take a right onto Atlantic
Avenue and follow it until you reach the old main gate. Go straight through the
gate and follow it until you reach a stop sign at a "T" intersection.
Take a left onto Ferry Point St. and follow it to the carrier. You can't miss
it, it's the biggest thing around.
