Mike McCormick- '91 Red/Ivory Coupe-Stock. Mike has seen the light, he was looking for a Porsche but his son found an NSX for sale, which Mike ended up purchasing. I think that Mike's son should get to drive it around the block for saving Mike the hassle's of the Porsche, but I understand he is only 14 years old ( boy I would like to take my driving test in an NSX!!!) Just Kidding, welcome to the NSX Club, hope you will enjoy the ownership with us.
Competition Events:
NSX/BMW Performance Driving School: It looks like everything has been cleared up for our 2nd Annual Labor Day track event (at least thats what we will call it). After some misunderstandings with the representatives of Thunderhill our event will not be the day after Labor Day but will be held on September 11, 2001. This is on a Tuesday the week after Labor Day, what a great excuse to take a day off of work. :)
For pictures and more of a write up visit the web page at http://sacramento.nsxca.org/Events/thunderhill_driving_school4-17.htm
Justin Hall handed out the results of the 1st & 2nd rounds of our Sacramento NSX Cup Autocross. Right now Al Terpak has taken the commanding lead with a total of 20 points, but it is still early in the game, so get on out there at the next autocross event to get your points.
Next scheduled autocross events are July 14 & 15.
Just a Reminder: (ie. copied from last meeting)
There will be two classes SS for stock NSX's and ASP for cars with suspension or engine modifications. The best 8 finishes out of the 12 event series will be counted toward the final placing. Points will be awarded as follows, first - 10, second - 8, third - 6, fourth - 4, Fifth - 2. Justin Hall will be responsible to keeping track of the scores. The schedule for the series can be found at http://sacramento.nsxca.org/Events/NsxCupAutoX2001.htm.
Drives:
Blackhawk Auto Museum Drive: Ted reported that everything went pretty much as planned for the event. The drive over Mount Hamilton sounded like it was challenging but fun, and also without any misfortune, except for dust on Jeffery's car. Blackhawk Auto Museum is always interesting, what else can be said.
Kirk Johnson was unable to make the day, but was able to catch up with a bunch of NSX's swarming around Walnut Grove trying to find Wimpy's. After getting everybody back together we made it to Wimpy's for dinner. The waitress was convinced that we all pulled up in new Corvette's, we really don't get any respect.
