Track Day: Good feed back on the track day despite the world events that were unfolding on the 11th. 34 NSX's were on the track, along with a few BMW's. The day was very smooth with no spins even with a relatively high number of novices and only 2 minor off track excursions. Many thanks again to Niello Acura for sponsoring the event and to the GGC BMWCCA for providing us with instructors and track management.
Competition Events:
Looks like Al is still in the lead for the Autocross cup with Jenny leading the ladies division.
The September 22-23 event has been postponed to October 6th & 7th due to the changes in airport security at Mather Field. The run groups are in the morning on Saturday and afternoon on Sunday. Check the web site for more details at http://sacramento.nsxca.org/Events/NsxCupAutoX2001.htm.
Other business:
5 of the instructors at the recent driving school offered to donate their hotel reimbursement to one of the September 11 relief funds. The Sacramento Chapter has agreed to match the $250 from the clubs treasury.
Club Tools: Jeffery Hiroshima has put together a proposal to purchase some of the less common NSX proprietary tools for club use from the treasury funds. There was considerable discussion around whether we should just set up a loaner tool list, buy the club tools or purchase a small trailer for events. Hrant suggested that a budget amount be set and work from there. A motion to that effect with a budget of $250.00 maximum was passed. A second motion asking Jeffery to prioritize the tool list and to negotiate with Niello to see what they will provide was also passed.
NSXPO 2001: The NSXPO event is still on for next month. Al has registration forms if anyone is interested.
Christmas Dinner: Al made the recommendation that we have a club subsidized dinner at the Slocum house again this year. Any Sacramento area member of the NSXCA is invited to attend.
The election for new officers is to be held at the November meeting. Nominations (self nomination is acceptable) for any of the offices are now taken. Nominations made at the meeting were:
| Tom Brady - President | |
| Jeffery Hiroshima - Secretary |
Any other nominations must be made to the club secretary (Tom Kohrs) by no later than 20 October 2001. Tom Kohrs announced that he would not be continuing as secretary in 2002.
Meeting location:
The Metro Oven and Grill is beginning to pick up in popularity so it's suitability as a future meeting site was brought into question. Justin Hall will be looking for alternate sights. Anyone with suggestions should contact him directly. If there is a change of venue for the next meeting it will be announced no later than the 15th.
$8569.51
Next Meeting:
October 23rd at Metro Oven & Grill at 7pm. This may change.
