Treasurer's report

$3103.98, spent $1500 on name tags and lanyards.  Still have not returned $1000 back to the national club.

New Business

We are waiting for members to help organize a couple of drives.  Hrant is also looking at another detailing session at Tomlinson or Fab Specialties again and Al is working on another wine trip.  We are waiting for Al to be back to finalize proposals.

Al found a pack of microfiber towels from Costco.  One towel is enough to do 2/3rd of car.  No choice on color, they are all pastel.   Each pack is priced at $12-13 and they are not located in car shop dept, instead it’s in the laundry dept.  The packages are labeled High Performance MicroFiber Towels.

Someone brought in a titanium short throw shiftknob from Grouppe M.

Next Meeting:

No meeting in April.  Next meeting will be May 28 (Tue) at 7pm at Aces Supper Club

Thunderhill Apr 23 Track school.

Despite low sign-up numbers (we are at ~40 paid), the group passed the motion to proceed with the Apr 23rd event.  We acknowledge that we may not break even and may need to draw on club funds if we do not hit 55 drivers by the event.  Even after opening up to other car clubs, we have not been getting good response.  33 of 40 cars are NSXes.

We are working on cutting expenses by exploring the possibility of having lunch catered by a sponsor.  If the sponsored lunch does not materialize, we may have to ask participants to purchase their own lunch.  We have also asked if participants are willing to pay an extra $50 to help cover the shortfall and have received 6 donations.

We received additional sponsorship in the form of door prizes from Carbotech with 15% off brake pads and Hrant Enterprises who is donating Ivory floor mats (not identical to original NSX logo).

Free tech Inspection will be held in the week of April 15 at Niello Acura.

NSXPO

The NSXCA Board of Directors leaked the results of the vote on the proposals for the 2003 NSXPO.  The Northeast region declared themselves the winners once enough votes we counted.  In conversations with the board members it became apparent that the decision point was based on which region had not held an NSXPO in the past.  The Northeast region is planning on holding the event at Watkins Glen, but they have not booked the track yet.

Since the organizing committee is set up and the track reserved, we are looking at holding a west coast event on the weekend Sears Point is booked.  This could turn into an annual west coast gathering probably held in the spring starting 2004 or 2005.

Autocross season

Al has published a list of the autocrosses this season in Sacramento.  The 2002 Autocross event list will be posted to the NSXCA Sacramento website

The next event is an SCCA autocross on April 6 and 7 at CalExpo.  See http://www.sfrscca.org/solo2/Sacramento/Cup20021.htm for more details.
