Notes

NSXPO ‘03

o       Hrant is getting lots of sponsors.  Sponsors are listed there, new since last month: Yokohama tires, Contrell & Concepts, Car Protect, Stoner, 3M, close to getting actual straight $ of ~$35K in sponsorship, not including items that we are putting up for raffle.

o       Comptech supercharger will be on eBay  July 31 through August 10th.  The starting price will be $6000, which is $2900 below retail.

o       Ted Chan donated two helmuts that will be ‘silent’ auctioned during NSXPO event (they are 2000 and 1995 Snell)

o       Keep checking out latest updates on NSXPO.org

o       NCRC is having event at Thunderhill on Aug 8, good opportunity to get ‘refreshed’ on the track prior to NSXPO.  Car needs to be mechanically- sound, they even have some loaner helmets.

·        Dawn Patrol.  Ted suggests going to Red Bluff, stay overnight… going on 36 West in the morning is going to be a real kick.  Targeting Sept.

·        If you want to bleed your brakes, drop by Al’s and he can help you.  Should get it done before going to a track event.  If you want the ABS done, need to do it before this weekend, as the equipment needs to be shipped back.

·        Motorsports Dynamics at Arden (between Volvo and Dodge Swift dealers), behind Dimple Records – they will match or beat Tire Rack on performance tires.  They have high temperature brake fluids that they will discount for club members.   They can get almost any parts we need for NSX, but do your shopping first to know the prices before going in to negotiate – you’ve got to show your NSX membership card first before they will work the prices with you.

·        Tomlinson from Auburn is coming to support us, cover cost of postcards.  Jeff Hiroshima just reviewed the picture and decided that the quality (resolution) is not good enough.  We need a picture of the new model car – will check with Honda America for pictures.

·        Al showed us the difference in size on the rear brake rotors between the older model NSX and the ones for 2000 and newer – it’s quite significant, although the rear brakes are not the critical brakes.  Some debate went on about the size of the front brakes.
