Tech Warning

If you have taken the heat shields off your brakes to gain better cooling, check the rubber boot on the lower ball joints, particularly the rears for cracks.  The heat from the brakes causes the rubber to dry out and crack.  If it should crack all the way through, dirt will get into the ball joint and lead to premature failure.

Life in the Day of a Fearless Leader

Al has a new job.  He is doing quality assurance at the Niello Acura service shop.  He is the guy that will take your car out for a tet drive after teh mechanics have finished to ensure the work is done correctly.  He says he has now driven just about every car that Acura has ever made during the past 2-1/2 weeks.  Ted is taking odds on Al making 30 days.  Al asks that before you bring your car in for service, please wash the interior.

He also mentioned that the Porsche Carrea GT is coming back to the Niello showroom.  He will announce on the club mailing list when it is there and organize a club viewing.

2005 Activities

Desperately looking for ideas for 2005 club activities.  if you have ideas, lets get them on the table.  If you have any bandwidth, please start to organize something.  Contact Al Terpak or Tom Kohrs for either funding or publicity help.  The goal is to hold  one club sponsored activity per quarter with at least one activity being charity based.  Al is kicking things off by offering up his house for a Superbowl get together.  If you are interested in attending, drop him a note at aterpak @ sbcglobal.net

Ideas:

Reno/Tahoe Drive

Watch Hrant at the Silverstone Classic in NV.

Charity hot laps at a track event

BBQ at someone's house

Dawn Patrols

Dawn Patrol Video

Tom has printed the Dawn Patrol Video on to a standard DVD.  This program runs ~ 45 minutes plus has some extras.  These were passed out at teh club meeting.  If anyone else would like a copy, drop an email to Tom at tkohrs @ dragonstoy.com.

JGTC Races

Luu gave a report out on the JGTC traces in Southern California.  Sounds like a very spectacular event.  Pitcures and narration can be found at http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?p=388540#post388540

Speed upgrade

According to Shad at Comptech, they are running out of the 4.55 rear end kits  for the 6-speeds.  If you want one, you should get in touch with them now!
