24 October 2006

Call for Meeting: Meeting was called to order by Hrant at about 7:15 PM
Present: Hrant, Steve, Joseph, Tom Pon, Mike, Jeff Fong, Lou, Rob, Fritz, Al.
Absent: Tom Kohrs - on vacation
New attendees: Karl (97-T Red/Tan), Gene and Linda (97-T Silver/Blcak), and Aaron (91 Black/Black CTSC)

Treasurer's Report
    - Joseph noted that club had $6949 in the bank
    - TrackMasters' Account - Hrant noted that we have not received the invoice/budget from Doug but might be in the range of $1700 for the track event at Infineon on July 21.

Hrant introduced the newcomers to our meeting: Gene and Linda, Karl and Aaron.

Old Business
    - Wine Tour in the foothills - Calvin was absent and will table it until his next meeting
    - Charity - Lito was absent and will table it until the next meeting
    - Holiday Dinner - Hrant noted the outcome of the vote and the preferred choice being Dave Wong's Restaurant in Stockton. Steve elaborated on the process and how he had merely secured a date to avoid losing opportunities as the time got closer. In response to Rob's questions, it was noted that the voting was strictly to make a choice for date and location; all those who haven't voted were more than welcome to attend the Holiday dinner.

New Business
    - Bay/Sacto Dawn Patrol on 10/14-15 by Keith - See NSX Prime NW Forum for details. Steve noted that he and Calvin were planning to attend
    - Track Events, check the schedules was reviewed and perhaps another push for NSX show of force for Infineon on 11/12:

    - Organizational Issue - Hrant briefly addressed his concerns in the e-mail that was sent out noting that the feuding ought to stop but tabled more detailed discussion for the benefit of the newcomers.
    - Other: Several issues were discussed
    (a) Servicing the NSX: In response to questions regarding timing belt service, Hrant responded the services available at Niello Acura, and Driving Ambitions. NSXCA membership and discounts were discussed and the newcomers were invited to join the NSXCA
    (b) Hrant noted that the Board has sent out e-mails and mailers for members to vote for Board officers. A discussion ensued regarding how Board members were allocated as well as how members can serve on local chapters/regions. Hrant invited anyone who wanted to serve to say so and jump in.
    (d) Hrant also explained for what purposes the chapter funds could be used and spent on. As long as the funds were spent to benefit club member activities - even a club member with the approval of the majority attending the meetings - there were no restrictions. Group buys, too purchases and charity donations were noted.
    (e) Hrant noted that he would most likely purchase another club radio for club use if the price was in the range of $60 - just as the one purchased from Jeff Hiroshima, previous club member. He also noted the group buy currently organized on prime by Dave for chatterbox for $102. These are much more durable than the old Nadi. He will most likely order one or two since the ones the club has are starting to fail and having one in reserve is helpful.

    (f) Questions from Al
    1.    Al noted that the club was failing to have minutes posted on the web and wanted to know when Tom, in his capacity as the club Secretary, was going to post them. Hrant noted that Tom was on vacation. This led to a discussion of the web and its content. Both Steve and Karl were interested in seeing the web updated.
    2.    Al wanted to know if the chapter was still trying to recruit members from outside the immediate zip codes of Sacramento, if Tom had contacted the national treasury Ken Sax to receive the $5 annual funds. Hrant noted that Tom was on vacation and did not know if such communication had occurred with the Board or Ken Sax. Hrant also noted that it might be time to reconsider the chapter's name as we were drawing from a 60 mile spread.
    3.    Al wanted to know if the club purchased the radiator pressure/leak tester. Hrant noted that only Al had posted on the list with an interest and thus no further action was taken [and Al was correct, Jason from Antelope had posted that he had already purchased one]. Steve noted that he had one as well, and Shad noted the tool was not particularly helpful for an NSX so it wasn't worth it.
    4.   I believe there was a 4th question also but can't remember

Next meeting: Tuesday, October 24 at Athenian - Greek Restaurant in Fairfield. Joesph will give more details.

Adjourn - Meeting was adjourned about 9:00 PM.
