Minutes of the Club Meeting on 12/16.

I would like to recruit volunteers to do the minutes next time.

 -------
Place: Christmas/Holiday Dinner at Dave Wong's Restaurant in Stockton
If there is interest, you can all meet a bit earlier depending on when you caravan.

Call for Meeting at 7:50 PM or thereabouts - Hrant

Treasurer's Report - Fritz
Fritz updated us that the current Treasury had $5,552.13 part of that had to do with collections for Christmas/Holiday dinner which the Sacto Chapter is subsidizing to the tune of $25/ea member (max $50 per family). We had a $60 expenses relating to $20 getting new checks printed out, and $40 forwarding NSXCA renewal membership for Rob to the national club.

NSXCA Board Activities - Tom - sent to the list the response to the questions below.
Tom if you will not be present, you can respond this list as these issues are important to be addressed given the developments of last month. Specifically:
    - Status of NSX mailing lists
    - How to coordinate and or communicate with other regions/chapters and members
    - Status of list administrators
    - Board minutes for membership to review activities of the Board
    - How to discuss issues affecting Bylaws with membership at large

Hrant noted that all the lists were shut down except for the NW and the Sacto - the latter managed locally. Tom is now the admin for NW list. Hrant noted the importance of having a national list as part of establishing an NSX owner's community in a club setting - as compared to NSXPrime type forum. Rob and others noted they were confused on how many lists were available and at times receiving e-mails from people and threads he was not subscribed. Hrant explained the various national and regional lists and how copying a topic generates interest from others.

Hrant also noted that pursuant to Tom's comment that Bylaws related questions should be sent to the national club president and/or the club secretary, that he had actually called Bob Ondrovic the NSXCA Secretary two weeks ago leaving a message on his business line and never received a return call or response. Also, that Larry Bastanza had enough of our local club issues and didn't want to hear from us. Noting these developments, Hrant was concerned that the Board has isolated and more importantly insulated itself and pretty much censored any dialogue or discussion re matters that affect the membership at large.

 Old Business
    - Charity function - Steve/Calvin will discuss the pitfalls in such ventures focusing on potential liability issues. Hrant noted that the national club has general liability coverage which can be used in the future to address such matters - if the coverage limits meet the obligations.

    - Web updates - Hrant noted that after months of waiting, there was still no progress on keeping the websites (NW and Sacto) current. Hrant noted that earlier in the week, he sent a private e-mail to Vytas and Tom regarding a status update to where we were but had not heard back. In fact the NW website has not been updated since 8/13. The Sacto website was also in need of major updates as it still did not update that Fritz is the new club officer, and the Christmas/Holiday dinner date-location was posted only a week ago. All agreed that it was time to take over the website management if Tom was willing to pass the domain name and the management. If not, there was interest in starting a new website.

Hrant noted that the club had funds to put into this if necessary, and there was agreement that such use of the club funds was appropriate and needed. Both Daniel and Lito's friend are web savvy and are interested in picking the ball. Hrant will pursue this with Tom first and see what needs to be done.

    - Coordination with Bay for scheduling activities - Gary noted that he has been in touch with Carlos and some other locals in San Jose who have shown an interest. He will pursue this further. Hrant noted that Shane was invited but since he was relocating to a new house, he could not attend.

New Business
    - Club tool display for those who want to borrow any club items -
        Antenna wrench
        Brake bleeder T-wrench
        Coil spring compressor
Brake lock nut wrench should be with Jeff Fong
Sound meter should be with Steve

Jeff Fong brought the items and Steve the sound the meter. For now, Jeff volunteered to be the keeper of the tools - but at the expense of making some "easier" pick up arrangements than south Sac (I bet he didn't know that) ....... ;-)

    - New and Exciting Programs/Venues for 2007!
Hrant noted that recent developments regarding who can post what, when, with whose editorial permission, and under what banner had spurred interest by a few to look at other venues to communicate regional interests amongst members. And more importantly, this interest seemed to have also support among our sponsors and supporters.

Hence the idea of a California home based/grass root club http://nsx-ca.org/ and forum sprung and within 3 weeks of germinating the idea, the sponsors and the web were put together, offering dedicated e-mail list as well. The Sacto Chapter was given the heads up first - because we are truly and uniquely special as the most active and engaged club/chapter. Membership is based on being an NSX owner residing in California. Joining this virtual club is free thanks to the sponsors and does not compete with NSXCA. You can be member of both. But the fact is there are California NSX owners exceed the number of NSXCA members residing in California and this needs vacuum need to be tapped as part of a more unifying (SoCal, NorCal, CentralCal, CoastalCal) and inclusive network if we want a more lively community.

     - Hot Shoe Award - His highness, with the full regalia of suspenders and bow tie, Brian Butts, offered the hot shoe award to Steve Ghent who literally paid for those shoes LOL! Steve could not hold his emotions and competitiveness back by noting how we was suckered to this by Kip - and all that talk about checkbooks and check being passed around .........  some of us are still contemplating college expenses ....  Steve will have to keep up the good show after his knee surgery - and we now the excuses that will follow to why ......... better keep that 16D nail handy too!

     - New Members - We are happy to note that both Gary and Bill have opted to make their NSXCA membership as part of the Sacramento Chapter designation. Gary joins Don Templeton who both reside in San Jose area - yes, they come all the way from there to some of our functions; and Bill from San Ramon. Our club is growing and we look for such ambassadors to "Spread The real Word" ;-)

    - Raffling/handing out goodies

Thanks to all our sponsors for the raffle. the big winners were: Don W and Don T (see something peculiar - both Dons) won Shad's generous $250 coupon. Kip won the K&N cold intake. Calvin raffled the new NSX-CA Stuck! caps. Brian Butt took Ted's Razo go fast pedals (yep, he had to get to that level to go faster now), Calvin won the KHrant Enterprises fender mat - and the harness bar pad and OEM lug nuts were taken by those who needed them ;-)

Adjourn: Meeting was officially adjourned at 9:50 PM or thereabouts with hugs, kisses, and handshakes ..... Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.
